Though we both grew up in South-Western B.C., it took us each moving to the U.S. to meet. Our first meeting was very much by chance. We were both working on the same product at Microsoft (Passport) and one day, recruiting contacted us and asked us to host a dinner for two Canadians who were interviewing down in Redmond that day. They needed two hosts as they thought that one of the recruits was a woman. At any rate, Jeff came running into Nicole's office frantically introducing himself and setting up a time to meet for dinner. (If you know Jeff, this frantic behavior is not abnormal). Nicole has no real idea who this very odd man is, but we played to the two recruits (neither one ended up being a woman) and realized that we had a lot in common.

We started spending a lot of time together after that and became much closer until our friendship slowly morphed into something much more special.

Two and a half years later or so, Jeff finally made the first decision he was 100% sure about, and asked Nicole to marry him.

Nicole is one of the most fun, caring, and smart people I know. She's got an almost infectious positive energy around her that makes her a pleasure to be around. Though I don't always tell her, I love her always positive attitude and ability to not let the little things get to her. She's always up for an adventure, even if that means simply ditching a map and just getting lost, always happy to try new things. I also love her spirit; the dreams she has and the ambition she shows.

Nicole is my best friend, and a wonderful companion. She can always lift me up when I'm down and though sometimes hard, can always make me smile. I am honoured to be marrying her this fall.

Jeff is an exceptional person with a great smile and a big heart. We have sooo much fun togther. I look forward to all the time I spend with Jeff. If it is exciting like going on vacations or not so like when we just hang out at home. He is super supportive and has help me tremendously through some tough things I have gone through.

What makes Jeff the perfect match for me is how we compliment each other sooooooooooooooooooooooooo well. Jeff cleans... I don't. Jeff can juggle... I can't. Jeff is on top of important things... I'm not. Jeff has strong biceps... I don't (yet). Jeff can be happy when he is hungry... I can't. And a multitude of other great characteristics that I don't have.

I can't imagine my life without Jeff in it he truly completes me. I am super excited about spending the rest of my life with him, YaY!
